Here's the new website I was talking about. I'm going to go post it around the web to promote it, so everyone go check it out!

CALL FOR STORIES
We¹re launching a new web site that will award $40,000 in cash prizes for
great pieces of personal writing on July 1. We are on the hunt for stories
and readers for the invitation-only beta contest. Since we don¹t expect the
beta period to have a very large attendance, the odds are high that people
who submit their stories now will win. We¹re hoping you will spread the word
to writers/bloggers who might be interested in posting, or readers who might
want to rate their pieces.

The site is called FieldReport http://www.fieldreport.com,
and the contest is for true-life storytelling
(2,500 words or less). It is judged through a member ranking system that is
new on the Internet; in order to post a story participants must become
judges in the competition. This way the stories are ranked by quality, not
popularity. The top prize during the beta period is $20,000 for the best
overall submission, plus 17 prizes of $1,000 to $2,000 each in categories
from Love + Hate to Travel + Nature and everything in between. For
submissions to have the best chance in the contest, they probably need to go
up within a couple of weeks.
